Motor District was built by people who live the lifestyle themselves. The idea started with a simple need: a secure, high-quality space to keep the toys, work on projects, and actually enjoy the time spent there. Then it became obvious that “storage” was not the point. Owners wanted a place that felt personal, that held real value, and that brought like-minded enthusiasts together around the same passions.
Behind Motor District is a partnership of real estate development, construction, and motorsports experience, focused on building campuses that owners can rely on for the long term. From the flagship community in Westfield to new Lowcountry locations, the goal stays the same: deliver a gated, thoughtfully built environment where owners can protect what they love, build something that is truly theirs, and plug into a community that makes the experience better than going it alone.
Travis May
Founder of William Tres Development, Travis W. May has combined a lifelong passion for motorsports with deep experience in real estate, construction, and lifestyle community development. When Jay Farmer approached him with the ideal of a private garage community, May immediately recognized its potential and the Motor District was born. His background made him the ideal partner to help bring it to life. He owned the perfect site for the first Motor District campus and, through his subsidiary companies, developed the land and constructed the buildings that established the blueprint for the brand’s future growth.
A hands-on competitor and motorsports enthusiast, Travis has raced and hosted nationally televised X-Factor GNCC events, spent countless hours in a GT4 race car, and maintains ownership in exotic car dealerships in both Indiana and Florida. His vertically integrated network of real estate, development, and construction companies allows him to carry out the Motor District vision from concept to completion — merging passion, precision, and performance into every project.
Jay Farmer
Jay Farmer is a seasoned commercial real estate developer and entrepreneur with a passion for creating innovative car and motor spaces that blend lifestyle, investment and functionality.
Jay grew up in the Indianapolis area and has maintained his love for cars and racing throughout his life. An instrument rated private pilot, avid water and snow skier with a passion for racing and automobiles, he has attended the Indy 500 (the greatest spectacle of racing) for the past 50 years in addition to owning and enjoying various high-performance sport cars. This passion for high endurance hobbies, sparked his vision and ownership of Motor District Garage Condos in Westfield, Indiana in 2019. Motor District has become the destination for automotive passion and community.
Having spent 30 years as a partner in a large corporate management consulting firm and as a corporate executive, Farmer moved on to pursue several interests in real estate projects. At the Motor District he has redefined what it means to own automotive real estate-offering car enthusiasts and collectors a secure, high-end environment to store, showcase, and enjoy their vehicles and collections. Designing and developing the “car condo” concept through
the Motor District project seemed to be a natural extension combining his passion for cars with his interest in real estate development.
