The All-Americana returned to Motor District’s Westfield campus on Saturday, July 18. It promised to be a great day, jam-packed with 80 cars and trucks of every description, spanning a century of evolution, from the humble Ford Model A of the late 1920s to the C8 Corvette, fresh from the assembly line.
A couple of rain showers did little to dampen the spirits of the 300 enthusiasts in attendance. As for the owners, when a squall passed, they broke out their towels and polished their Packard 120 or Olds 442 back to spotless perfection.
Speaking of perfection, Gary Bartlett’s 1965 Shelby 427 Competition Cobra, CSX3019, was the center of attention. Its first owner raced it across Europe through the 1966 season, including the Targa Florio, Spa, and the Nürburgring. Mr. Bartlett bought it in 2022 and had it restored to its Targa Florio specs, with the team responsible earning Restorer of the Year at the Historic Motoring Awards in London.
All in all, it was a glorious day for enjoying automotive Americana under (sometimes) blue Hamilton County skies.
